Frequent flyers often refer to that strip as the “weed mall,” and each one is thriving.

Because of the town’s geographic location, it quickly became a marijuana mecca. When High Times asked locals if they were concerned about the economy declining should the “weed bubble” burst, they answered with a resounding no.
Even if cannabis is legalized in the surrounding states, Trinidad has made a name for itself among enthusiasts and dabblers alike and boasts some of the best dispensaries in the area. It would take a while for competing towns to catch up and provide even a fraction of what Trinidad has to offer following legalization in their own states. Put another way, traveling to Trinidad will still be worth the trip for those in search of exceptional cannabis products.

Although this out-of-state traffic makes up most of the pot shops’ clientele, Colorado residents are proud to call Trinidad their own. The tax revenue doesn’t hurt, either.
